Lawn Care Crew Safety and Education
Is your lawn care service provider properly trained and educated on the use of their equipment and any chemicals that they may be applying to your lawn? Are you confident that they understand that they understand the proper usage instructions and treatment applications?
Lawn Care Safety And Education Is Important For Both The Customer And The Service Provider
Landscape and horticultural service workers face daily risk of injury from a wide variety of potential hazards. These hazards include, but are not limited to exposure to chemicals, noise/hearing loss, machinery, lifting, and weather related hazards like heat and cold.
At Canopy, safety is our number one priority. Proper training and safety measures are important, not only ensure the quality of lawn care service that our customers receive, but also to ensure the safety of our valued crew members. We provide our crew teams with ongoing training and education so that we can mitigate their risk and also give them the tools that they need to be knowledgeable in their craft.
We recently partnered with SiteOne Landscape Supply to provide all of our crew members with an inservice training day. The interactive training covered a range of material including everything from understanding product labels, to fertilization & weed control schedules, to how to properly calibrate equipment, and even a refresher course on math! Our crews left armed with knowledge that they can put to use daily as they serve our customers.
Why do we feel it is important to offer continuing education and training to our employees? Simply put, in addition to keeping our valued team members safe, we also feel it helps us provide better service to our customers.
If your lawn care service provider is not knowledgeable about the products and techniques they use on your lawn and landscape, how can you be guaranteed the best results?
Perhaps one of the best examples of this is fertilization and weed control service. If every home owner had a completely square lot, that was the same size as their neighbor, with exactly the same landscape enhancements, treatment would be a snap. However, not every homeowner has the same size lot, shape or landscape design. When your landscape service professional is treating your lawn with a fertilization or weed control product, it is critical that they understand the proper amount of product to be applied, as well as the potential effects of that product on the turf and any surrounding plants.
You should be able to rely on the knowledge and experience of your lawn care service provider and the crews that they send to your home. If you have questions, your crew should be able to answer them. You should not have to be concerned about safety while crews are on your property. You should be able to trust that you are receiving the best service and best care for your turf and plants.
Canopy wants to provide the best possible service to our customers and the best and safest possible work environment for our crews. This is just one of the things that makes Canopy stand out in the lawn care industry. If you have questions about our continuing education or safety practices, we encourage you to give us a call!
