RALEIGH, NC – December 29, 2016 - Canopy (www.canopylawncare.com), announced today that it has closed its latest round of funding, taking on another $2 million to support its rapid growth in transforming the $24 billion residential lawn maintenance industry. The round was led by Lowe’s Companies, Inc. with participation from IDEA Fund Partners, The Lighthouse Fund, and other existing and new investors. The funding will be focused on hiring in multiple positions as the company expands into new markets, including the greater Charlotte metro area. The Raleigh startup emerged in 2015, when it announced its initial $1.5 million seed funding round. Canopy has spent the last year and half perfecting their model and growing exponentially in the Triangle region of North Carolina. With many self-contained lawn maintenance trailers now on the road, Canopy has nearly 40 employees, many of whom are their valued residential lawn maintenance crews. “We have seen first hand the difference we can make in this industry”, says Hunt Davis, CEO of Canopy. “We have fundamentally rethought how these services are bought and delivered. By merging operational best practices, differentiated culture, and technology, we have created the first scalable solution to tackle the needs of both homeowners and landscape professionals.” By using technology, Canopy is able to create efficiencies in the scheduling and routing of their crews, in addition to offering customers a much more transparent and proactive communication and service experience. Customers can choose to receive notifications via email or SMS message when their jobs have been scheduled and their crew is en route to their home. This opens up the ability for them to instantly reply with particular concerns or requests for that day. Each customer also receives an after-service job summary report, with photos, so that they can see the work that has been performed, even if they are not home at the time of service. The Canopy field staff are trained, knowledgeable, courteous, employed year-round, compensated well, and have the ability to gain ownership in the company. Canopy believes that by providing a fundamentally different experience for their crews, the crews in turn, provide a fundamentally different experience for their customers. They are making lawn care personal.

RALEIGH, NC – August 10, 2015 – Pack Purchase (www.packpurchase.com) is emerging from ‘stealth mode’ by announcing the initial $1M closing of its $1.5M Series Seed funding round to revolutionize the home services industry. The round is led by IDEA Fund Partners of Durham, NC and newcomer Cofounders Capital, based in Cary, NC. Pack Purchase is a simple solution to a complex problem when it comes to routine home maintenance. Through their website, users can see customized pricing instantly for landscaping, pest control, and exterior cleaning services. Customers enjoy a centralized platform for the scheduling, payment, and communication related to all of their services. The company provides a 100% guarantee of all work performed and doesn’t lock customers into contracts. Leveraging their technology and relationships with handpicked local service providers, Pack Purchase enables customers to avoid the typical, and often painful, process of hiring these services. Instead of homeowners researching providers and collecting quotes, Pack Purchase inputs public real estate data into its various pricing algorithms. Instead of customers tracking and paying dozens of invoices throughout the year, Pack Purchase provides a digital portal for customers to view all work that has been completed at their home, how much they paid for it, and any notes the crews took on site. Pack Purchase was previously working within select areas of the Raleigh/Durham market in North Carolina on a pilot program basis, honing the company’s delivery model and building out its technical infrastructure. With this investment, Pack Purchase plans to saturate its existing market and expand into new markets in the coming months. David Gardner, angel investor and founder of Cofounder’s Capital, believes in the model, stating “Organizing and managing all of your home maintenance services is a real headache today.” Co-investor and managing partner of Idea Fund Partners, Lister Delgado, agrees, “Getting quotes, vetting providers and comparing pricing is time consuming and it’s difficult to hold vendors accountable for their work. These guys are changing all of that by providing a simple free website where homeowners can just click on what they want and Pack Purchase takes care of everything…centralized service, better pricing and more convenient.” Follow information about Pack Purchase, learn more about the platform, or get prices for services at your home at www.packpurchase.com.
