Canopy Lawn Care Featured in Real Simple: Tips for Shady Lawns

Date: March 14, 2025

Raleigh, NC: We’re proud to share that Canopy Lawn Care was recently featured in Real Simple’s article on maintaining shady lawns, with expert insights from our very own Mike Hrivnak.

In the piece, Mike offers practical, science-backed advice for homeowners struggling with patchy or thinning grass in shaded areas. One of the key takeaways from Mike’s contribution? Focus on soil enrichment. Healthy soil is the foundation of a healthy lawn, especially in low-light conditions. Mike recommends core aeration and consistent applications of natural ingredients to promote root development and improve soil structure—strategies we apply across our lawn care programs here at Canopy.

We’re thrilled to see Canopy’s soil-first philosophy highlighted on a national stage. If you’re dealing with shady spots in your yard, let’s talk. We’ll help you build a lawn that thrives from the ground up.
