How does the treatment work?
Mosquito treatments are applied by a trained technician using a backpack blower that emits a fog treating the entire property – lawn area, trees, shrubs, natural areas. The treatment both kills current mosquitos in your yard, but most importantly it prevents the breeding cycle of mosquitos. Mosquitos like to lay eggs, in moist shady areas, with larva hatching through spring, summer, and fall.
Do mosquito treatments effect any other types of bugs or insects?
Yes and No. It is an insecticide so it will kill any insects that come in direct contact with the application, but it is only harmful to mosquitos following the application.
Will treating my yard make mosquitos worse in my neighbor’s yard?
No! It actually helps your neighbors as well. Since the treatment kills mosquitos and prevents the breeding cycle, your neighbors will likely see less as well.
How long does the treatment last?
Proper application greatly minimizes mosquito population. Since mosquitos are constantly breeding it is recommended you repeat the treatment every 3 weeks from April thru October, which ends up being a total of 9 treatments. We want your yard to be mosquito free between treatments. If you see mosquito’s in-between treatments, you can call and get another application.
Will mosquito treatment help prevent the Zika virus?
We can not make any claims about the prevention of Zika virus. It is known that the Zika virus is carried through mosquitos, so having fewer mosquitos in your lawn sounds like a pretty good idea to us! Insects are everywhere, so it is always important to be aware of your surroundings and take precautionary measures to avoid bites.
